Synchronized Swimming

is a water sport in which contestants perform choreographed maneuvers set to music. Synchronized swimming requires agility, grace, timing, musical interpretation, and overall body strength.

Fun Facts

  • Some professional swimmers can go up to 70 meters without coming up for air.
  • You are not allowed to wear goggles, but you wear noseplugs.

  • Swimmers can hear the music from an underwater speaker.
  • You are not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool.
  • During a show, swimmers constantly have to smile, making synchronized swimming easy and painless.
